I would like to know if what someone I know told me is true about the Kenwood TS-830 and TS-830s HF radios,,,,, he said that they have a problem with the VFO going out and are not repairable that they have inherent problems is this true open to all input on this. :) :?:

hi well i have had three of them and yes they do have inherent problems with the vfo and audio also there is a chip in the audio cir that goes bad and they are no longer made a sub is made but it involves mounting it backwards and this chip is also very scarce but as far as the 830-s when it's working there is no better radio there is lots of info on the net that tells you how to fix these problems do a search on knwd 830-s

Thanks Chuck was very helpful anyone else have any comments in referance to the Kenwood TS-830 & TS-830s radios
