How to find original license date?

OK, probably a dumb question, but how can I find out the original date that I received my ham license? All the on-line databases seem to have the renewal date, but not the original date. This is my 25 year ham anniversary this year, but I can't remember the exact date.

Congrats Scott!

I thought everybody kept their first license. I sure did. You can probably get real close from an old log too. All new hams keep excruciatingly accurate logs for a day or two.

I imagine that an inquiry to the FCC would get you a quick answer, too. It may not be posted, but it can't be hard for them to reply.

Thanks! Well, I got licensed when I was 14 years old, and have moved MANY times since then. I bet I have it... somewhere!!!

I'll try an FCC contact and see what I can find... I am still surprised it's not publically available. I think that would be very useful! :-)

The QCWA researchs old calls as well. If you are joining, they can find it for you.

Sort of a catch 22. Can't join if I can't prove that I was first licensed 25 years ago, right? LOL :D
