I have an old Spectrum preselector, model FL-6 which I lost the manual. I need to retune it and when I contacted Spectrum, they kindly told me that they did not give out that kind of information on their products. I only asked them for instructions, not the complete manual yet they would still not send it or email the instructions. If anyone has these instructions and will share, please email me at skywarn@starband.net.
Thanks!!
Jim
SPECTRUM COMMUNICATIONS PROBLEM
SPECTRUM COMMUNICATIONS PROBLEM
Followup: The folks at Spectrum advised me that they did not have time to support all the equipment they have sold over the past 35 years. The sales rep who finally called me back told me that his boss told him that they would have to hire another person for a 40 hour week just to reply to the reuests for information on their products. Now if that is the case, it seems that they have a lot of problems with their equipment or they don't care what their present and former buyers think of their products and service. BTW, this is not the first time I have had a problem getting information from Spectrum. Our repeater group has bought two VHF repeaters from Spectrum and has had numerous problems with the newest one and had very poor and expensive service from them. In fact, we finally replaced the Spectrum's with a Kenwood repeater. I think they should gladly support their present customers in hopes that they would recommend their products to others, but with this kind of service, they should focus on commercial customers, not amateurs who do not have the capabilities to demand common good service!!!
