IC-706 quiet fan alternative??

Hello, was wondering if anyone has had any luck with alternative cooling fans in an Icom IC-706? I love this radio but it sounds like a jet taking off when transmitting. I'm probably hoping for a miracle, as I guess the sound I hear is the movement of air and not the fan itself, and I suppose that the volume of air moved is required to cool the radio. Has anyone had any luck at all with calming the noise? Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated. 73, Chris N3YHK
