HELP Icom IC-746 and CR-282 adjusment!

Hello Good people, hope someone can help! I have an IC-746 that was working fine and I installed the CR-282 high temp oscialltor and went to adjust L1901 per the book but that adjustment has NO effect at all! You are supposed to adjust it for 60.0000 and I can't get it to move off of 60.0056, I tested the radio and it sounds off frequency on receive, something is not right. I then decided to put the stock crsytal back but that one wont adjust either and it sounded the same, still that off frequency sound. I am sure the radio is fine, I was VERY careful, maybe I moved something else by accident, loosened a plug, etc. Anyone familiar or have this problem before? ANY help appreciated please!!
