KQ4CVG &

Post by KF0B »

Beware the following emails and spoofed call signs….

alexjmacdonale@hotmail.com Using N1XAV and asking for money at PayPal address Gridah6969@gmail.com

and

KQ4CVG@gmail.com Using KQ4CVG and going by name David Maye even created a gmail account using his call sign

and

k4fcz@outlook.com Using K4FCZ and going by name Phillip E Lackey Also created an email using his call sign

I posted a want for a YAESU radio. These guys all tried to scam me.

One dick head even sent me a photo of his radio for sale on his desk. Only problem is that it was my old radio on my desk at home in the photo from 10 years ago.

It’s so sad us hams cannot do deals here without getting attacks like this…

By the way, EVERYONE of these scams contacted me directly. Did not use the QTH “contact seller” form. Probably because it tracks there IP address.

I was contacted by someone who said their name was Maxwell Burch, amateur call K4FCZ, about a for sale item on QTH.com. This email seemed very
suspicious as he did not mention what item, it was a multi item post. I believe the real K4FCZ, according to QRZ.COM is in Cedartown, GA and is not
responsible for this response to my ad.

Hi,
I'm interested in the unit on your classified Ad, as listed
https://eham.net.un-grants.info/eHam.ne ... ifieds.htm
Is it still available for sale?

I have also received inquiries from "Maxwell Burch" using the callsign K4FCZ. I also do not believe they are legitimate, as the name associated with K4FCZ on the FCC database is not the same, and the text of the inquiries is suspicious:

"Hi, I'm interested in your "Ad" as listed on https://eham.net.un-grants.info/eHam.ne ... ifieds.htm
Is it still available?"

Some of the inquires sent to me also cc'd several other ham callsign email addresses. Weird.

While part of the email address (Maxwell Burch <k4fcz@eham.net.un-grants.info>) says "eham", I am not sure whether this came from someone looking at an eHam ad or a QTH ad (I have postings on both at the moment). And I cannot find an email address for K4FCZ anywhere to ask. Just be careful out there.
