I have a Standard C558 that I was planning on using for a crossband repeater on an upcoming balloon launch. I had planned on using a little PIC CWIDer to ID the repeater while in operation by plugging it into the mic jack and letting the PIC key the radio and send the CW tones out. Well, after I have everything built and ready this evening, I find out that while in crossband repeat mode, the C558 disables both the PTT switch and the PTT in the mic jack on top. This creates a BIG problem for me as you can see. If anyone has any info on where else in the radio I can access the PTT while in crossband repeat mode, the info would be greatly appreciated. Or any other suggestions??? I am out of ideas for now. Thanks.
