This happened to me.
A guy sells a jacket on eBay and gets paid thru Paypal.
He then buys an item from me.
Paypal sends the email saying the funds are in my account so I ship the item.
So far So good!
After about 40 days go by I get an notice that $$$ has been frozen in my paypal account because of a dispute.
The guy that bought the jacket is telling paypal that it is junk.
After another 10 days the money is taken to reimburse the fellow that bought the jacket. (Paypal would NOT tell me this)
PayPals reasoning is that the money was not his to spend and since the money was still just setting in my account they just took it back.
I call the fellow I shipped the item to and explain to him what has happened and he tells me the whole story.
(I also talked to the guy who bought the jacket and he gave me the same story)
I ask him to send back the item and he says no.
He paid for it, I got the money, and my beef is with PayPal not him.
So beware of Paypal and NEVER leave money in your account for them to come along and grab.
Transfer it to your bank account where it is safe (at least from paypal).

PayPal ... a safe way to sell?
Re: PayPal ... a safe way to sell?
Since PayPal is not technically a bank, thus not subject to FDIA, Federal regulations, etc., I immediately pull money out of PayPal before shipping the item.
