my father was into ham radios, electronic equiptment, and military electronic equiptment. he has passed on and i have a house full of equiptment that i can't even begin to know what it might be worth. hoping for someone who might be willing to let me send some pictures to them so i can get a rough idea. i am trying to get an idea before going to the hamfest in Horseheads, NY at the end of ths month. i tried to upload some photos on here but can't figure it out. my email address is ojacksback@yahoo.com.
confused daughter in need of help,

Ms. Rebecca.
I take issue with the gent's advise regarding not selling over the Internet. There is nothing wrong with selling over the Internet when you know what you are selling, know what it is worth, and you have the means to have items shipped country anywhere in the country.
I counsel you to first decide what the goal is regarding you father's ham equipment. Just to clear it out of the house? To gain as much of its worth as possible. The close out his estate with the lease amount of effort and expense? etc. Different goals and purposes will call for different approaches to the task.
I urge you to contact a local ham club or use other other avenues to access others who have had to manage disposing of a loved one's ham equipment and apply their experience to your situation--learn from their experience.
Good luck on your mission, it is an honorable one.
