GU-43B tubes and sockets

Post by kd6uw »

I have 12 NOS GU-43B tubes and two used/good ceramic chimney/sockets for these tubes. I have been gathering them for years now in hopes of building an amp. I am now in an appartment with no work area and will probably never build the amp. I still want a legal limit HF amp. What do you think these are worth collectively or what kind of a HF amp could I trade them for???

If I'm not mistaken, this is the tube that is very similar to the 4CX1000. If so, you will find them around for $100 or less in NOS condition if you shop. I have no idea about the chimneys, etc. As to what you can get - - it depends on how bad someone wants the tubes! You might try to find a good homebrewer (of amps, not adult beverages although....!!!) and trade the excess tubes for parts and labor. That often works if you look around.
