who knows how much min oil to put in the can? is it a gallon or less

It's an unused, one gallon paint can with "Heathkit" embossed on the side...and the large resistor and it's mount will displace some of the mineral oil. Buy a gallon of mineral oil and when you fill the can, don't pour the whole thing in. Leave some space for expansion.... the mineral oil will expand as the submerged resistor heats up during tests
