As far as I know Walt is still retired from building power supplies. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Weatherford TX hamfest several years ago and he is one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. I purchased a 60 amp supply that day and he introduced me to his protege who was taking over the business. I don't know if he is still around and all I can remember is his first name is Russell but I can't remember a last name. I'm not sure that he is a ham or not. You might want to check this out.
