There are 2 main differences:
1. A manual tuner takes longer to tune.
2. A manual tuner costs much less.
Within each type, there are variances such as maximum SWR tuning capacity, power handling, etc. But those are the 2 main differences between the 2 types.
Having built and used only manual tuners,, once you make a chart for each band and each possible antenna, the manual tuner is quite fast.
Just preset it to the frequency and antenna settngs,
Then a quick check with power to fine tune..
20 seconds or less..
I have 4 antennas,, G5RV , tri band verticle, tri band beam and 17 meter mono band...
Charts for each.. 17 meter doesnt actually need the tuner...
