Just what it says -- this is the place for any discussions not related to Buying, Selling and Trading ham gear. The discussion must be related to Ham Radio.

Digital Operation

Post by AL7HG »

The article in the recent QST about Rigblaster Pro got me interested in this type of operation -- digital, computer, don't even know what to call it!

My last experience in this area (?) was with RTTY in the 70s, remember those HUGE terminals with the keyboard and punch tapes -- can't pay anyone to take one of those today.

I'm wondering where I can find more information on this type of operation and whether or not the Rigblaster Pro is the best available. Also, do you just hook one of these up to your rig and GO? What modes do these operate on? CW, RTTY, what else?

I just tried to go to Rigblaster/Westmountainradio's website and it was down.

I used to run a lot of RTTY too. Then PSK31 came on the scene, much better!

You might find part of what you are looking for at http://www.psk31.com.

This is probably the best site to get an overview of the current trend in digital modes. Murray has been highly instrumental in getting these modes into common use, and we owe him a great amount of thanks and praise!
