SS-75 ssb transmitter

Post by w1fif »

I have an old SS-75 Side band exciter made by Electronic Engineering Co. in about 1953 with the original manual. It was advetized in QST in 1953 for $245.00 dollars. Does anyone know the Value of this generation 1 side band transmitter??

I believe you have an Eldico SS-75 transmitter -- it is CW, with provisions for an AM modulator (or built-in screen modulator) ISTR. I think it was featured in one of the latest CQ boatanchors calendars.

Interesting collectable -- Eldico went on to build the 100F SSB transmitter and the infamous S/Line clones (almost identical with the Collins). Excellent quality, but still below Colllins.

I'd go $50, maybe 75 if it was working and in excellent condition.
