Someone using K5BCN for scam attempt

Post by nx1k »

Sunday night (12 May) I got a reply to my ad from someone using the call K5BCN. After some back and forth about payment method I got suspicious and checked QRZ more carefully than I had earlier. I noticed that the name was not quite right and the email address was different. An email to K5BCN at the correct address confirmed I was dealing with an imposter.
Fortunately I paid no money but I learned to check more carefully next time.
The real K5BCN is a trusted participant in this site. Maybe that is why his call was chosen for this attempt.

K5BCN has been pirated from William "Coy" Johnson by Rhyan Brook. Be careful as to who you are dealing with. Rhyan Brook tries the send you more $$ scam.
