73's to WN3R - my DMR Elmer

Post by kc3twk »

A Shout out to Dick (WN3R) - who spent a day with me to get me set up with my very own MMDVM-Pi-Star Hotspot and COTRE radio to initiate my journey into the DMR community. Thanks for helping me to 'smooth out' the learning curve and actually make it fun. Dick's mission is a noble one - to help both Veteran HAMS and new ones (like myself) to enjoy the best of what Amateur Radio has to offer - access worldwide communication and camaraderie through discussions over RF. I noted that my local repeaters are usually dead air - and he noted that DMR is an easy and inexpensive solution. He even provided me a free COTRE radio to get me hooked. It worked and I am now paying-it-forward using Dick's example with my friends and family. Thanks again and 73's.
Your friend,
Dave (Kc3TWK).
