Just what it says -- this is the place for any discussions not related to Buying, Selling and Trading ham gear. The discussion must be related to Ham Radio.

Yaesu FT-767GX VFO tuning problem (encoder is fine!).

Post by W4AJF »

Hi, this question is for someone familiar with the FT-767GX. I have one and when you tune the VFO knob sometimes it won't tune at all for a second, then it may tune and then it may jump only when spinning dial on fast tune. The encoder is FINE, I believe this to be an electronic issue not a mechanical issue. Again, I am sure someone familair with the FT-767GX can help me. Thanks for any input.

Try consulting your unit's user manual. If you don't have it, you can download one from the Internet for free.

how does it tune using the up/down switches on the mike.
Bad encoders may look good but have very fine slots. any mis alignment or dirt cause weird tuning
you wuold need to check it with a "scope" to verify it is "good"/
