WA4WYF Radio4Mike@AOL.com....(954) 721 7038.....need to know which two (2) pins, of the auxillary plug (at the back of chassis) I should use to key a linear amplifier, not using the ALC circuit....am ready to get on the air and need info A.S.A.P. 73's Mike[/b]

This same problem has happened with the ts940s. It is most likely the battery, or a faulty processor socket. This was cured in the 940 by removing the processor socket and soldering the processor directly to the board. Fortunately, for the 940, there was instructions posted on the web how to do this. Often, leaving the rig off for extended periods of time, the battery will go bad. Why don't you just leave the rig on for several days before turning it off again. Then see what happens. Anyhow, a battery generally only lasts for about 5 years.
