What happened to the manual

How many times do you see an ad for a piece of equipment and there's NO manual. You can download it online. What happened to the one that came with the rig? I can see it if the rig is 20 years old, but if it's fairly new, the manual should be sent with the equipment. I've bought things, and had to "download" from "online". If I sold the item, I sent the online manual with it. Then you see people selling the original manuals....Why didn't the manual go with the gear when it was sold ? The manual is as much a part of the rig as the mic, or power cord. Just my 2 cts. 73 Skip K8SOR
