Recently I had been looking at the very old and discontinued Kenwood Visual Communicators the VC -H1 and the KVT- 10. I must say that the asking price are seriously on the high end to cause severe sticker shock arrest! A device this old, with tech support non void, no parts or repair support from Kenwood, is not something that one would play around with on a daily basis;why would these device cost over $100-$125 (and that's pushing it!).
My inquisitiveness led me to an Android app that is available on your phone or tablet. Connecting your phone to a HT or HF radio, you can now SEND and RECEIVE SSTV for US$6.99. It is compatible with Scottie 1 & 2, Scottie DX, Martin 1 &2 at this time. These old Kenwood Communicators are not worth anything over US $130.00 let alone the US $200.00plus price that they have been recently advertised!
