QTH.COM Swap Chat

Hello - It's time for me to let the Ham community know what is going on!! My name is Phil Stanley KD2XN - located in upstate New York and someone has been using my call to reply to WTB/WANTED ads for the past week or more. I have received numerous e-mails and phone calls from fellow hams across the country reporting this scam. I just received yet another e-mail reporting a similar scam. I have three valid/authentic ads on qrz; Selling an ICOM 2300H, a vertical dipole and a WTB ad for a TS-570SG - I have sent funds for the TS-570SG. Back to the scam - my email address and paypal info are one in the same and end in twcny.rr.com. Fellow hams have reported the scammers are from Las Angeles and Athens, Greece. Unfortunately this is all too common. Please be aware and proceed with caution. Needless to say this has been extremely frustrating BUT so far know no fellow Ham has been "taken" by this scammer.

I will to continue to reply to all e-mails I receive regarding the scamming and report back here.

I have a WTB listing on QTH.COM and have received several offers to sell me what I'm looking for at ever decreasing prices,..... from your call, KD2XN, and also with the exact syntax and marginal English from K9DZD whose call has undoubtedly also been HiJacked.
Both are using gmail accounts with the same structure, montek9dzd@gmail.com and philipkd2xn@gmail.com
