Scammer Alert

Be aware that someone, claiming to be Edward Hoffman, K5AH, is contacting posters with WTB postings. The real K5AH is not, apparently, involved in this scam. K5AH does not have a listed email address, but the person claiming to be him is using edwardk5ah@gmail.com to "sell" ham gear. He will ask you to use only a postal money order and to send it to his wife, Maryjo Mellor at a Las Vegas address. If you send him the money order, you will never see the item you paid for. There is at least one posting about this on QTH and several on QRZ. Another guy is also using the same kind of format for an email address, with a call sign, name@gmail.com and also asks for a postal money order. Always check the FCC or QRZ listing for the call sign and if there is no email address, don't fall for this scam. I got off cheap - $60. I saw others who lost over $300 to this con-artist.
