Two scammers - offers to sell items WTB

For reports of scammers using other people's callsigns. Remember that any callsigns listed in this forum are likely innocent bystanders (subjects of identity theft) and, thus, are probably not guilty of anything. For bad transactions with verified ham operators, use the Feedback Forum instead.

Two scammers - offers to sell items WTB

Two different scammers the same day, today answered my ads 1217221 & 1217217 of WTB on QTH
one claimed to be Jack Winter W5GFfrom Texas, but wanted funds sent to Virginia; the other claimed to be Larry T. Williams WB4NAD from Kentucky, but wanted funds sent to Las Vegas. Both wanted funds sent via Postal money order. The first got me for $ 60., but I'll be at the post office first thing Monday. The 2nd I challenged and didn't pay out. They both use e-mails similar to the correct ones with call signs within, but slightly different. I researched both men and called the real ones WB4NAD has had this problem before; W5GF was surprised, but is going to check into it some more. For now on I'll only pay with Paypal with addresses matching QRZ addresses. Be careful folks. "73"
