W9DCS Scammer and Thief

Post by n2cep »

W9DCS Dan Schneeberger: I saw a post that he was selling a Eagle One vertical antenna for 150.00. When speaking with him via email, he stated he was selling the Eagle One antenna with tripod that he was using at his QTH. I confirmed that I would buy it and sent him the payment to his address posted on QRZ back in early October. I got numerous emails from stating he was away on a trip and then on a retreat and never received the antenna. He then stated he found out that the post office sent the antenna to Montana and it was possibly damaged. I asked him to send me my money back with a tracking number. He emailed me on sat, 11/14 that I would receive the money on Weds, 11/18 but I did not receive the money and the tracking number was invalid. Does anyone know this guy, is he a scammer. I saw online the call sign has had a problem with a scam before but it was a guy trying to buy equip, not sell. I sent it to his QRZ page address and it was received because I had a tracking number on it. 150.00 is not going to break me but its the cop in me to complain.
I had never had a problem before buying equipment so I feel hesitant to post this but it has been to long. If he comes forward with my money I will delete this post and apologize but as of now, I am making a complaint with his town police. Thanks in advance Joey N2CEP
