KB9KQU hijacked

For reports of scammers using other people's callsigns. Remember that any callsigns listed in this forum are likely innocent bystanders (subjects of identity theft) and, thus, are probably not guilty of anything. For bad transactions with verified ham operators, use the Feedback Forum instead.

KB9KQU hijacked

Post by K7WXW »

A scammer is posing as KB9KQU. He responded to a WTB ad I posted. A quick check of his credentials showed that his email address merely added a digit to the email address of KB9KQU. The fact that the equipment photos he sent me included a photo of an instruction manual with the name of a different ham on it made things a little easier.

A note to sellers: it sure is a lot easier to figure out if you are legit if (a) you have a profile on KRZ and (b) you include an email address in it!
wag more. bark less.
