Beware someone saying they are WD5BMC, David

Yesterday late an ad was placed selling an Icom 7600 for $1800. After several emails, the "ham" refused my picking up the radio and did not want cash laying around his house and could not meet me 1/2 way due to being in a wheelchair.. He would not give me his telephone # to discuss his rural address location... My interest was only because I could avoid shipping since the guy was fairly close to me in Arkansas. Wanted money sent to an account, etc etc. The emails came from an @ gmail.com account but after a few questions the probable scammer REMOVED the ad quickly. It was ad #1325527. Just beware and REREAD the several points put on QTH.com about how to avoid scammers. Hope this helps someone out there. This does NOT appear to have been WD5BMC based on too many red flags and no email adr on QRZ.com matching where his emails to me came from. And as added incentive to me, he throws in that the PS125 was included.. flag! If this was the real WD5BMC, I am sorry, but too many excuses why I could not pick up the radio and avoid shipping damages and could not pay cash money or at least with a cashiers check. Also, WD5BMC has less than 150 lookups on QRZ.com. I have notified Scott KA9FOX also. The ad wording had some issues like the 7600 was his 'back rig'.. but that alone was not the problem.

Looking at search data for David in Trumann, AR, it appears he passed away at age 58 which was a few years ago. Further confirms my suspicions. All of the QTH.com users need to refresh their memories about the ways to avoid scam and spam. They are listed on the website and clearly stated.

Addendum:
It was NOT the scammer who deleted the ad quickly, it was the astute assistants for Scott FOX who saw flaws in the ad and deleted it, evidently while I was in "email conversations" with "David".. Shows you how much Scott and his observers have QTH.com readers foremost in their minds!
Thank you!
