PayPal and eBay they scam
I have read the reviews of others reference PayPal and also eBay because they are one company now. I recently sold an antique radio to a jerk in Michigan. After receipt and email saying it arrived safe and was working he applied for a "Refund". PayPal accepted his request with no input from me, no case being filed and no authorization from me. So they grabbed $200 from my account. I have no radio and I am out $200. So be careful of their so called "Buyer Protection Program" I disregarded or did not pay attention to the other negative comments, here and other ham sites, because it had not happened to me. Well to sum up I have cancelled my accounts with both eBay and PayPal, after 20+ years. Also note, it is impossible to contact either eBay or PayPal. Only responses to my efforts at contact was 7 generic messages. So please, "Seller Beware" Roger, K8CIX

I agree. Customer service is non existent - got burned by a scammer seller and I had documentation, etc and they never reviewed it let alone asked for it. He got to keep his money and I ended up with a safety hazard that would shock you with 110vac. Neither are to be trusted. They screw sellers a lot and even buyers....

In addition, mailed them a Western Union money order for a monthly payment, rcvd, cashed it and now 1 week later, balance still not reflecting the payment. either someone there stole it, or they are extremely slow to show the payment....either way, very unprofessional....

No point posting info on QRZ, it only gets locked. Be sure to post bad Ebay or PP experiences where folks can see your info. Ihave an investigation on my issue with cashing a payment and not crediting my account on going. Next is law enforcement action.

Appears now, that someone at PP stole the money order and cashed it. Of course, not one admits fault and no one refunds anything, screwed by dishonest folks at PP. I know it was rcvd as it was not stolen in the mail. I contacted their customer service which is a freakin joke, doing an investigation (sure) and never heard back.

I sold a perfectly working R71A receiver recently, looked like new and performed as such. Buyer said it was deaf. I told him it must be operator error because it worked perfect when it left here. That was a Friday, I heard nothing from him all weekend. I left town on Monday morning, when I got back Thursday PapPal had refunded his payment with NO input from me, and I had to repay PPal. Item was clearly listed AS IS, as I sell all items, who knows if the buyer can even connect it properly. I would be a fool to warranty a 30 year old electronic item... The buyer did send it back-luckily. It worked perfectly as before I sent it, except now the cover screws were marred up and almost stripped, wasn't like that when shipped. Long story short, it was operator error. The R71A has an antenna switch on the back to choose between the so239 connector and a spring loaded connector for a longwire. You. guessed it, he stuck a piece of wire in the spring loaded connector -he told me that- and did not switch to that antenna. Sure it's going to be deaf, essentially it didn't have an antenna connected. I lost $35 in shipping all because of operator error, PPal backed the buyer without ANY input from me.
That is why I always sell items as is. If you see me list any item as is, that's what it means-AS IS. I don't knowingly misrepresent items. If a future interested buyer doesn't understand what AS IS means, do not reply.. I have started to stipulate that a PayPal buyer,in the comments section when paying, clearly state that they know they are buying the item AS IS with NO warranty or guarantee expressed or implied and they understand that I do not accept returns. That way PAYPAL has the statement documented in house and hopefully will see that I did not violate any aspect of that transaction the next time some moron can't figure out how to operate something. I can understand why the buyer thought it was deaf, but that was his error, not mine. Maybe he should have read the included OPERATOR manual... Sometimes PPal helps us out, sometimes they break it off in your .....
