Post Office Money Orders are easy to modify and use to scam someone. If you accept a PO Money Order do this before shipping the item,
call 1-866-459-7822. You can easily verify a money order with the PO. Call the number and note the time frame for verification, at least 48 hours
after issuance and no later than 90 days.

Or, take it to your local Post Office. They will verify the money order for you and even cash it -- if they have enough cash on hand.

That is true and works. I prefer to verify on line, then ship the item and to avoid a lack of funds at the PO for large amounts
I go to my bank and cash the MO. They always have enough cash.
