Selling my AM6154/AM6155s, homebrew 1296 amp, test equip

Post by KE5EP »

All --

It's been literally 10 years since I packed this stuff away because of a business move, thinking I'd "get around to" getting active again in VHF/UHF weak signal work, however work and other things dictate it'll probably be another 10, so.... I need to know what this stuff is worth nowadays so I can sell it:

- 6154 Amp converted to 2 meters, with relays and fresh final.
- 6155 Amp converted to 70cm, with relays and fresh final.
- 6155 Amp converted to 220mhz or 70cm (don't recall which... it was a 70cm amp that I'd intended to convert to 220, just don't recall if I ever actually did the conversion or not).
- Dual final (cannot recall the tubes, but they're water cooled metal/glass), 100-125 watt out 1296mhz amp built by Al Ward, but I never used.
- HP608E 10-480mhz signal generator
- Alfred Model 622BK Microwave Oscillator

Thanks in advance,

misc homebrew stuff

Post by wa7kkp »

Most homebrew stuff has very limited value -- usually only to the owner, or possibly someone who wants to get an amp for those frequencies.

The test equipment might get something but if it is tube based, very little again. Back in 1978 I bought two HP 608D generators, for $35 and $20 each, and horse traded one off to a friend. The ones I've seen at hamfests go begging. You have a limited market, as most hams don't need test equipment any more, since their radios are beyond most ham's ability to troubleshoot or repair.

If you get an offer for the 608E, it is desireable as it covers the 70cm band -- my 608D quits at 420 MHz. Take anything you're offered, and enjoy.
