this is what I found so far on the amp.

TE 2048

does AM CW SSSC
and has a preamp too

4 tubes RCA Radiotron Electron Tube 0C3

Given the tubes are OC3's (actually, OC3/VR-105's) which are 105 Volt regulators (from a 1962 Handbook) would guess the vintage of early to mid 60's. No idea of what the final amp tubes are. No idea of price to ask.

I think that TE is the current Mirage model numbers, but in the 60's Mirage was not even around.

If there is a good place to attach a rope it might make a good boat anchor. :D

1.5KW VHF AMP

KC0KIG,
IF IT WORKS, and the cosmetics are good looking, AND it doesn't cause a bunch of RFI when transmitting, it may be worth about 850.00 to 900.00. But here's the rub, there are not too many antennas on VHF rated at 1.5kw. So you may have a problem selling it at all. I'd love to run that kind of power on 2m, but I'd probably destroy every security light, and florescent light within 300 yards, and light up the rest within 1/4 mile. With the new rf standardsdirected by the FCC, that much power may be dangerous to people close by. I may be wrong about some of this, but 24 years as a ham tells me that you better consult sombody in the commercial service about this. Good Luck!

"But here's the rub, there are not too many antennas on VHF rated at 1.5kw."

Maybe, if you intend to use the amp on FM and a commercial vertical antenna, what a waste....

Just about all 2M yagi manufacturers rate their antennas capable of handling 1.5KW.
Checkout M2 Inc. and their antenna specs for just one example.
www.m2inc.com

Therefore, utilizing the amp should not be a problem.
EME and tropo/scatter operators routinely run the full legal limit of 1.5KW on 2M.
