Help with operation IC-718

Post by zzz »

I need help from someone who has an IC-718 radio and knows how to set it up for operation. I have been out of ham radio for several years. I have hooked up a die-pole antenna, I can turn the unit on and off, set mode, change bands and use the pad freguceny input to set.. I don't understand how to tune the transmit to something I am listing to. I just need some help as an example of steps to take and you may use the manual referance numbers as an illstration. Thanks

where ever the dial numbers say, thats where you will transmit, on CW or SSB.
Cw is offset by about 800 cycles but more or less where you are listening.

no drive, dip and load, like a tube type output.

you need a tuned antenna or a 'tuner' to adjust for SWR..
all this assuming you have alicense to do all this.
