Help on TL-922 Amplifier

Post by K8JPM »

I recently replaced the power switch in my trusty TL-922A amplifier. Since putting it back on the air, the plate resonance points have changed on the plate vernier knob. I calibrated it by tuning up on 40 meters, then loosened the set screw on the indicator disk to line it up with the 40 meter indices on the face plate, at the position where it always indicated previously. Now, the other bands indicate resonance far from the place where they had previously indicated resonance. The amp seems to work fine and there are no double peaks or other anomalous indications. Anybody have any idea what might be going on?

Something got disturbed???

Post by K4ICL »

Can't say with out looking at it but at first blush it might be a load capacitor that got loose or was not soldered back during the recent repairs.

Carefully examine ALL components on the final tank circuit including switches etc. Also be sure the relay switching circuits are doing what they are supposed to be doing.

Good luck.

Cheers,
