Does anybody make or offer plans to make a simple (human powered) coil winding form/ machine? Preferably to make 3 inch diameter coil tubes @ 110 turns?
Thanks for your help.

There's a book from
http://www.lindsaybks.com/dgjp/djgbk/index.html
It's called 'Build a Universal Coil Winder' by Gingery ($8.95). It's aimed at wave wound coils, but you can disable the wavewound feature easily: you may need to expand one or two dimensions to do 3 inch diameter coils.
The form is probably best made from some 3 inch diameter PVC pipe: some varieties are pretty good for low losses. If you're really worried about loss, get two pieces of fibreglass, and clamp them together. Drill 6 holes in a hexagon layout about 3 inches across the holes. Glue 6 suitable lengths of fibre glass tube or rod about 1/4 to 3/8 diameter into the plates so the plates are at each end of the tubes/rods. Epoxy is good for this. Now you have a low loss former.
