Question about swan1200x (new Ham)

bought a swan 1200 thats been upgraded to use
EL 509's

somebody said you can allso go to 811a's

is this true :?

The EL509's are replacements for the 6KG6 "sweep" Tube. The 811 will not replace it. The 6KG6 is a tetrode and the 811 is a triode.
The 1200x when manufactured used 8950 tubes.
