Don't get mad, get even!!!
When you use a packing service and/or a carrier to deliver your goods, ]ALWAYS PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD.
That way, if your merchandise is improperly packed and smashed, or if it's lost or smashed in transit and the shipper renegs on the insurance claim, you can assert aBILLING ERROR when you get your credit card statement with that charge and "LEGALLY" refuse to pay the amount of the offending charge WITHOUT being charged interest on the disputed amount until your dispute is resolved.

SHIPPER'S REVENGE
If the item was trashed because of the pack-n-ship company I think you could legally dispute the CC bill on the grounds that the Pack-n-ship did not hold up their end of the bargain in as much as you and they agreed that the item would get there damage free and if damage did occur it was insured, which was denied for some unknown reason, its kind of what CC companies boast of with there "we will cover the cost" claim. In any event I would dispute the bill through the CC company. I like using CC's.
