Installing a HAM radio on a Toyota Pruis

I purchased an '08 Toyota Prius and I need to know if any there are any problems with multi-band radios, damage to the cars electronics or to the radio. Have been told by Toyota not to install a radio. Does anyone have a Prius with a radio? If so how did you install.
