ST2 Scanner Antenna

Has any one ever used this antenna to transmit on 2 meters? Can it be used to transmit? If so how do you overcome the required 75 ohm coax? Can you simply connect 50 ohm?
the 50 ohm cable would make a difference on weak signal work as it is a slight mismatch. for basic FM stuff, not to worry.
as for transmitting, problem would be in too high a power for the insulation involved. I suspect most antenna designs would allow up to 15 watts with out a problem.
if the antenna is accessable, put high power into it on 146.49 as a test.
not likely to interfere with anyone on .49......
see if insulators on antenna get warm..
or just use it and watch swr.. if it changes after a time of transmitting, then likely you are using too much power for the design.
