Restoring old Globe King

I recently bought an old Globe King 500C. Had the B model when I was a kid. I plan to try to restore the rig. Never done this before!? The chassis has a lot of rust. I am going to start by removing all the components. from the chassis. The question is: What is the best way to remove the rust and restore the chassis to a really good looking condition?

I've been a ham since the 50"s and have built a lot of gear but never tried
my hand at restoration before. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Tnx,
Jerry, W8UJX

Here's one method:

This sounds like something I would like to try. Only one problem. I wonder what voltage is applied to the electrodes?
