Rare microphone?

Hello
I've just recently picked up a what I believe to be a rare Astatic 811 microphone...I've only seen 1 other. The mic came with all of the data sheets so I know what the frequency responses are...and believe me this mic has studio sound...not like the d-104 tinny sound. Much like a high end condenser mic
What I would like to know is some history behind this mic as I can not find any info on it on the net. Also lf anyone might know a site that may have some info other than the data that I already have.
