I'm supposed to get my FT_920 back today it has recieve but no transmit, it's basically a 9 out of ten in looks, I sent it to Yaesu and they fixed it and it worked about an hour and it went back out again.,
Would make a good parts radio or a tec special.. Whats it worth?

"His money is in the mail and so is the radio on it's way back to me and I'm $870 losers in the auction plus over $300 in repairs that is shot. End of story".
I am just curious , Why would you think the radio is "shot" and just came back from Yaesu? One typical problem with the 920 is the ribbon cable on the mic plug circuit card comes loose everytime the front panel is lowered for service. I have seen 3 so far in my shop with the exact problem you described and fixed it in less than 5 minutes.
So I do not understand where "shot" comes to play?
If you tell someone it just came back "fresh" from Yaesu , they expect it to work? Help me out here...

I sent it to Yaesu and got it fixed and talked on it. Then I put it on EBAY and rbteaford bid on it, he said it was DOA right out of the box he said it received but didn't key up. So I got it back a while ago and it don't do anything. No transmit and no receive, just a lit up screen with nothing. It still has filters am, and FM board and extras like that It would make someone a good parts radio I'll sell it cheep. But I'd rather the buyer come here to look at it, I'd like to get $350 out of it the Board (FM) and AM filters and extras like that are worth that...
I won't sell anything else unless the buyer comes and picks it up that way they can watch it work and both of us will agree right then and there and no one can say they bought a pig in a poke.

Sorry it took so long to re: on the 920 yaesu .. The problem was in the plug in the rear end, All I had to do was take a scratchawel and close them together, I have been transmitting on this radio ever since at full power, and it is a flawless radio.
I actually learned some things by looking inside of it,, The radio has every option installed including the High Stabilty TXO and AM filter plus side band filter plus cw filter,, and FM board, all together it has a lot of money in Options installed in it, Actually if this radio didn't work at all $690 was a small price concidering all the options in this radio..
Any Way I sold the Icom 746 Pro and kept this radio because I already have a Dual bander and all kinds of amps to get a good signal out, so I'm impressed.
Thatnks for all the support especially the help on checking out the ribons internaly,, thats how I saw all the other option it had.. 73's and God Bless you all.. Hey folks if I sell anything on this site I will donate some of the money to this web site..
I don't use EBAY or PAY PAL any more due to their one sided approach and by them not taking time to look at what they help a buyer condem..
Anyhow,, Take care ,, I'll be back from time to time.. I don't sell a lot, I actually buy more than I sell..Be good and Get out there on field day and show your stuff..Jerry KC8GBF
