Can you guys help me out I have a Century 21 that is in very good shape the only thing that is not perfedt is that te VFO will stick if it has not been used for extended periods of time. If you just work it for a few minutes it comes back to good again. Can you help me out with what it is worth? I had it listed on QTH but got a nasty email from someone that thought it was too high? I was asking $190 but open to offers. I have deleted the listing until I get more info. I have seen them listed higher than that before?

Hi Mike,

I am in the process of selling an excellent condition Century 21 to a ham for a price of $175 INCLUDING shipping. I believe that is a fair price and he believes that is a GREAT price. I don't think you were very far off at $190 especially if it included shipping.

Bear in mind, a price is good or bad dependent upon who wants the rig and why they want it. The fellow I am selling to had one as a novice, so there certainly is some "nostalgia" value there.... to HIM.

If possible (sometimes difficult, I know) ignore "nasty grams". If someone thinks your price is too high, they SHOULD simply ignore your ad, you are certainly free to ask whatever you wish for whatever you are offering for sale. For example; there is (or was recently) an ad on eBay for a Century 21 with a "Buy it Now" price of $395. I think that is a little strong, HOWEVER, it is NOT my place to play "pricing police". The market tends to determine the price.

Personally I think you should re-list your ad at $190 especially if you were willing to entertain offers. There is probably someone out there who really wants a good Century 21.

Good luck and 73,
de Larry
