Charleston SC Plane Crash

Post by k4kk »

On Wednesday, a small private plane crashed near Charleston SC killing all aboard. What many don't realize is that it was filled with amateur radio operators enroute to Crooked Island in the Bahamas to operate this weekend's CQWW SSB contest as C6APR. The pilot was W2GJ, Pete Radding, who also owned the aircraft. W3PP, Dallas Carter, a well known contester with a prominent contest station set-up. Dallas and his wife, Lucy were ex-CIA and had friends all over the globe. K4QO, Randy Hargenrader, and K3IXD, Ed Steeble, were also aboard the plane. I'm sure news stories are available via Google, etc.
