I'm looking for the guys in Texas that build power supplys but I can't remember their names. Can anyone help me ? Thanks, Steve, n0vcu.

I havent heard of any particular group of builders.
But building your own is easy.
one of the easier things to do in electronics.
layout is not critical. parts are easy to get except the transformer.
I have built the 28 volt HANDBOOK version 3 times.
modified to 13.8 volts.. which is merely a choice of transformer.

Well Larry not everybody is "not into building" either.
IT was just a suggestion to encourage building, instead of letting someone else do it.
The first time I built it, I was done in about 7 hours... less time than it took to get a reply to the original query.
Plus if you build it yourself you can also repair it ..
"If you dont burn your fingers at least once a month, on a soldering iron ,
your not a real ham"
or something like that to raise someones ire..
