Heathkit SB 200

Have a Heathkit SB 200 that I got about 3 years ago. Was going to put it on line but never got a tuner to handle it. It does not have any conversions added. The outside case was repainted using Heathkit dark green paint and looks nice. Was told that it worked when I got it. The fan runs and tubes light up[, but have never had it in operation. Has a reprinted manual. What is something like this worth, and what is the best way of selling it... it is heavy and would cost plenty to ship it. Thanks for looking!!

With no mods, and the fact that you haven't had it on the air, my estimate would be 200.00. Shipping costs would be 50.00 + or -, depending on how far it had to go. Remove the 572b tubes and ship them seperately, as they do not survive the trip installed in the amp( no cushioning, shock WILL damage them!) Good Luck!

If it will plug and play, its worth $200. If it has been modified with a GOOD mod for 160 (there are some pretty bad butcher jobs), it might be worth $275, but only to someone who really cannot do his own mod.
This is a great amp (I've owned two), if you really can't pull 20 amps out of your wall socket (i.e., you really can't run 1000-1500 watts), or you don't want full power. Output on 10 meters is not fabulous, but the replacement tubes are cheap and readily found.
