I am looking for a 6 wire plus shield mic cord. Searched the net but can't find one that isn't10 ft long. I just want a short one about 3-4 ft long

What type cable are you looking for plain or retractable,with or without plugs?Kenwood uses a 7 conductor ( 6+1 shielded) on their MC-60 desk mic,18" retracted & is equipted with either 2 8 pin or 8 pin/rj 45 modular plugs.hope this helps you.

four pair shielded intercom wire..

should be able to buy by the foot from electronic parts store
or maybe a local P A installer, contractor, audio store, church amp type place.
