OVERSEAS BUYERS -- UNREALISTIC?

Are overseas buyers unrealistic and out of touch with what it costs to pack and ship a rig?

A buyer in the Ukraine was interested in my FT-100. My first email warned him that insured delivery would be expensive and that it cost $25.00 for shipping it from Pennsylvania to Illinois.

I used the U.S.P.S. website to estimate on the cost of shipping 16 pounds to the Ukraine, using the box the FT-100 was shipped to me in and insuring it for $450.00. I said that shipping would be $100 and anticipated delivery time ]two weeks. [/b]

My buyer buyer then made me a counter offer and said that he knew how to have the rig delivered for only $35.00.

AND THEN HE'D PROBABLY SIT AROUND AND B^^^^ TO THE HIGH HEAVENS WHEN HE DIDN'T GET THE RIG IN TWO WEEKS!!!

If his offer wasn't so low. I'd tell him to go the www.usps.com and see for himself what it costs to ship a rig.

Now I know why a lot of sellers won't sell overseas!
